Common questions

How do I back up my notes?

Open Settings in Taste Notes and tap Backup & Restore. Create a backup and save the file somewhere safe, such as iCloud Drive or the Files app. Do this regularly, and always before changing phones.

How do I move Taste Notes to a new iPhone?

Create a backup on your old phone and save it to iCloud Drive or AirDrop it to the new phone. Install Taste Notes on the new phone, open Settings → Backup & Restore, and choose Restore Backup.

Nearby restaurants or distances aren't showing

Taste Notes needs location access for this. Open the iPhone Settings app, find Taste Notes, tap Location and choose While Using the App.

A restaurant's address or phone number is wrong

Open the restaurant, tap Edit and correct it. Details imported from Apple Maps are a starting point and are yours to change.

How is a restaurant's automatic rating worked out?

It's based on the ratings you've given to dishes at that restaurant. The restaurant page shows how many visits and rated dishes it's based on.

I bought Lifetime and it isn't unlocked on my new phone

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy it, then use Restore Purchases in Settings.

Which devices are supported?

Taste Notes runs on iPhone. The App Store listing shows the iOS version required. Android is planned but not yet available.

Can I suggest a feature?

Please do. Feature ideas from people who use the app shape what gets built next.
